Dear Trek Consumer,

Please take notice if you have recently purchased one of the following 2013 Trek bicycle models:
• 2013 Madone 5.2 (standard and WSD)
• 2013 Madone 5.9 (standard)
• 2013 Madone 6.2 (standard and WSD)
• 2013 Madone 6.5 (standard)
• 2013 Madone 7.7 (standard)
• 2013 Madone 7.9 (standard and WSD)
A small number of these bicycles were made with an attachment bolt, on the
front brake quick-release, that could come loose. This could allow the cable
clamp to detach and potentially result in the loss of use of the front brake of
the bicycle. If this happens, you could have difficulty stopping your bicycle.
Your safety is very important to us. Therefore, Trek will replace the front brake
on an affected bicycle, free of charge.

AFFECTED MODELS
Only specific bicycles from model year 2013 are affected. The following page shows you how to identify the affected models. A list of affected bicycle serial numbers can be found at the following website:

DO NOT RIDE YOUR BICYCLE UNTIL THE FRONT BRAKE HAS BEEN INSPECTED
If the front brake loses functionality unexpectedly, you could have difficulty stopping your bicycle. Do not ride this bicycle until your retailer has inspected the brake to determine if the attachment bolt is affected by this recall.
WHAT TREK WILL DO FOR OWNERS OF A RECALLED BICYCLE
